Hose the detector with clean water after use on the beach (wading or submersion). If, through extensive use, the carbon-fiber upper or lower shafts become noticeably scored, wipe these thoroughly with a damp cloth.
Do not use solvents to clean the detector. Use a damp cloth with mild soap detergent. Wash connectors with distilled water.
